FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

A few matters
for the record.

What the file contains, what Felix is, and what you can explore or keep today.

Can I book a consultation now?

Not yet. Consultations and gift redemption are not open yet. You can use the free Waiting Room, read three complete annotated case files, make an observation or care-handover sheet at the Observation Desk, explore the Research Room and browse six plant dossiers.

The planned launch prices are A$19 for a First Consultation and A$29 for a Gift Consultation. There is no subscription.

What will a First Consultation include?

One plant, one personalised four-page digital case file and a mobile-readable report. It will cover your photographs and care history, visible clues, uncertainties, possible environmental explanations, three prioritised actions, what to check next, and separately labelled fictional consultation notes.

Is this real plant advice?

The care layer is intended to be practical, source-based and specific to the information supplied. Observations, hypotheses and uncertainty are kept separate. A photograph cannot establish everything happening in a pot. This is educational guidance, not an in-person inspection or a guaranteed diagnosis.

Is Felix a real psychologist?

No. Felix Fern is a fictional AI correspondent. He has no professional qualifications or registration. The therapy is satire. Read about Felix for the full arrangement.

Does my plant have to be in trouble?

No. A healthy plant is an entirely suitable subject. We do not need to invent a problem to make the file worthwhile. Pip’s example file is concerned with a plant that appears to be doing well.

Will you save my plant?

No outcome can be guaranteed. Useful guidance includes limits, safe next steps and signs that call for an in-person assessment. For rapid decline, unexplained damage or a problem the evidence cannot resolve, a local nursery or qualified horticulturist may be more appropriate.

What photographs and details will I need?

Two to four clear photographs: a whole-plant view and a close-up, plus the pot, drainage or position where useful. Include what changed and when, the light, watering, moisture observations and drainage. Use photographs you own or have permission to share. Keep people, addresses and unrelated private material out of the frame. No precise home address is needed.

What if I do not know the species?

Say “unknown”. Start at the free Observation Desk and record what you do know. A nursery label or informative photographs may help, but an uncertain identification must stay uncertain and must never become a safety clearance. When paid consultations open, unresolved identity that prevents a supported report must be clarified before payment. Darcy’s file shows this pause in practice.

How quickly will a paid report arrive?

A tested delivery commitment will be published before orders open. No instant or 24-hour promise is currently offered. There is nothing to pay while that workflow is being verified.

Can I give a consultation to someone?

A Gift Consultation is planned at A$29. You can personalise and save the free invitation design preview now; it is clearly marked non-redeemable and contains no gift credit. When gifting opens, the recipient will supply their own plant details and consent, and will not pay a second consultation fee. The buyer will not automatically receive the private report.

What if a report is missing, incorrect or unusable?

The paid service must have a working route to investigate, correct or redeliver a report, or provide an appropriate remedy. Applicable Australian consumer rights will be preserved. Personalisation is not a blanket reason to refuse a remedy. Read the refund and correction policy.

Will my photos or answers become public?

No private submission is permission to advertise with it. Publishing customer photographs, quotations or case extracts would require separate, affirmative permission. The public examples are invented scenarios with original illustrations. Read the current privacy notice.

What stays in my browser?

Waiting Room answers and gift-preview wording stay in the current page. The Observation Desk saves a browser snapshot only when you choose “Save in this browser”; later edits need another Save. Its Clear control removes the entries and the saved sheet.

The intake rehearsal keeps text in this browser tab’s session storage so a reload can restore it. Photos must be reselected after a reload and are not uploaded. Downloaded files remain yours to manage and share.

What about pets or children?

Include whether pets or children can reach the plant. If ingestion or illness is suspected, contact an appropriate veterinarian or medical professional promptly. Do not wait for a botanical report. Our plant and cat safety guide explains prevention and the limits of a plant identification.
